About

About Obvious books: This project grew out of my experiences with undiagnosed ADHD.
After years of academic and professional failure, personal disappointments, complete implosions of my social support, two psychiatric hospitalizations, and an arrest, I was finally diagnosed with depression and ADHD, (thank the quantum!)
Suddenly my mess of a life and disaster of my physical environment made sense to me.
I’ve always been and avid reader and pathologically curious. (After my diagnosis I learned that reading engages my hyperfocus, and the curiosity was novelty seeking, I found much healthier ways to engage with those parts of my personality. This was often in the form of learning everything I could about mental illness, and trying every product under the sun that claimed to help with these issues.
These planners are the result of over 15 years of that “research.”
I’d really love to hear any of your experiences with mental illness and neurodivergence, especially if it’s something you believe would help others. I hope you’ll join our community and share your knowledge with us.
